Seonso Historic Site in Yeosu, where a shipyard had been building ships since the Goryeo period, is a historic military base where Chungmugong Isunsin Janggun, along with General Na Dae-yong, built and repaired the Turtle ship during the Imjin War. Thanks to its topographical characteristics as a natural fortress located deep within Gamangman, it was able to serve as an important shipyard. Here, you can encounter various ruins that vividly show the shipbuilding technology and the appearance of the naval base at the time, including 'Gulgang Dock', a U-shaped artificial harbor where ships were built and anchored, 'Gyeseonju (Mooring Posts)' where the Turtle ship was tied, the site of the 'Blacksmith’s Shop' where weapons were made, and 'Segeomjeong (Sword Washing Pavilion)', which served as the command post.
