Gohado, located in the waters off Mokpo across from Yudalsan, is a historic strategic point where Admiral Yi Sun-sin stayed for 106 days to rebuild the naval forces after his victory in the Battle of Myeongnyang during the Jeongyu War. Today, a 1. 8km-long coastal deck is installed along the coastal cliffs, allowing visitors to walk over the sea and appreciate the fantastic rocks of Gohado and the superb views of the archipelago.
Walking along the deck path, you can encounter the Gohado Observatory shaped like Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Panokseon, the majestic Mokpo Bridge, the dragon head sculpture, and coastal caves. The landscape tinged with twilight at sunset and the night view of Mokpo Bridge are also attractive.
