Seonhwadang Hall was the central building where the governor of each province handled official affairs during the Joseon period, and it holds the meaning of 'receiving the king's edification to spread virtue to the people. ' Originally located in Andong, it was moved to its current location in 1601, and after suffering from several fires, it was rebuilt in 1807 and remains today. As there are not many existing government office buildings from the Joseon period, it has a very high historical value, and it well demonstrates the characteristics of the concise yet elegant late Joseon government office architecture.
Currently, it is located within a park in the city center and is loved as a space where citizens can take a rest while feeling the history.
