Geumgang Bridge in Gongju, completed in 1933, was the longest bridge south of the Han River at the time of its construction and is a bridge built with the painful history of the relocation of the Chungnam Provincial Office. It survived turbulent times, being blown up and restored during the Korean War, and once served as the only passage connecting Gongju's old and new downtowns. Currently, it is a one-way bridge allowing vehicle traffic only from north to south of the river, and is loved by many as part of the cross-country bicycle path.
In particular, at night, colorful lights harmonize with the waves of the Geum River and the walls of Gongsanseong Fortress to present a beautiful night view, and literary works such as poems by Na Tae-joo are exhibited, making it a representative attraction in Gongju where you can feel cultural sensibilities while taking a walk.
