As the oldest park in Yeosu, Jasan Park was established on Jasan, which spans Jonghwa-dong and Sujeong-dong, and takes its name from it. Once a fortress protecting the sea and a strategic military location, this place was reborn in the 1960s as the first urban nature park for the citizens of Yeosu. In 1967, the 15-meter tall Admiral Yi Sun-sin Statue, the largest in the country, was erected, adding to the park's symbolic significance.
Currently, at the top of the park, there is a boarding station for the marine cable car heading to Dolsan Park, establishing it as a core attraction of Yeosu tourism. It boasts a wide-open panoramic view where you can take in downtown Yeosu, Odongdo Island, and the Namhae sea at a glance, and in particular, the sunset and night view harmonized with the cable car crossing over the sea are considered the best photo spots.
