Opened in 2003, this museum was built by tearing down the house where painter Jeon Hyuck Lim, known as the 'Magician of Color', lived for nearly 30 years. The building itself is considered a giant work of art, with its exterior walls decorated with over 7,500 ceramic tiles featuring the painter's works. In particular, the front of the 3rd floor is adorned with a large mural reconstructing his representative work, 'Window'.
You can encounter the original artistic world of the painter, who worked primarily in his hometown of Tongyeong and Busan, and only began to receive recognition in his sixties. It is a famous anecdote that President Roh Moo-hyun personally visited the museum to commission an artwork after seeing his painting 'Tongyeong Port', and the masterpiece completed through this connection was even hung in the Yeongbin-gwan of the Blue House.
