Connecting downtown Tongyeong and Mireukdo Island, Tongyeong Bridge has established itself as a symbol of Tongyeong and a representative night view attraction since its opening in 1998. It is a historic bridge that advanced domestic maritime civil engineering technology even during the IMF financial crisis at the time of its construction. At night, 196 high-efficiency LED lights installed on the bridge's deck arch embroider colorful lights in the shape of a rugby ball on the surface of the canal, creating a fantastic night view.
It is considered one of the Eight Scenic Views of Tongyeong and a core attraction of Korea's first specialized night tourism city. Recently, the bridge's exterior was newly decorated with the artwork 'A Prayer for a Good Catch' by Jeon Hyeok-rim, an artist from Tongyeong, transforming it into an 'artwork on the sea. ' Along with the brilliant night view, it attracts visitors as an attraction that showcases Tongyeong's artistic identity.
It is also popular as a driving course or walking trail.
