Suncheon Culture Street is a space that naturally formed starting in 2009 as local artists and culture workers gathered in the old downtown of Suncheon. Often called the 'Insadong of Suncheon', the alleys are lined with galleries and workshops, and the area took on its current appearance through urban regeneration projects that included burying power lines underground and creating small streams. In particular, the 'Seomunannaeso', which recreates the old fortress walls of Suncheonbueupseong Fortress built with the participation of local residents, adds to the significance of the place.
It is fun to browse through the unique workshops, galleries, restaurants, and cafes, and in autumn, the ginkgo trees turn yellow, creating a golden street. You can take a break at 'Hanokgeulbang', a renovated hanok, or enjoy various cultural events such as monthly art festivals, busking performances, and flea markets.
