Mokpo Modern History Museum Building 2 is the former Oriental Development Company Mokpo Branch building, which holds the painful history of colonial exploitation during the Japanese colonial period. Completed in 1921 in the Renaissance style, this stone building was a symbol of land and resource exploitation at the time, and currently, the interior exhibits vivid photographic materials showing Mokpo's modern history, the reality of Japanese aggression, and the history of the independence movement against it. In particular, on the first floor, a huge safe used at the time is preserved in its original form, catching the eye.
It is also known as a filming location for the drama 'Hotel Del Luna' and is visited by many people.
