Mokpo Literature Museum is a space that illuminates the lives and literary worlds of writers from Mokpo who left a great mark on the history of literature in Korea. It honors the literary achievements of Park Hwa-seong, Korea's first female full-length novelist; Kim Woo-jin, a pioneer of modern drama; Cha Beom-seok, who perfected realistic theater; and Kim Hyeon, a literary critic. In particular, interesting anecdotes about the writers, such as Kim Woo-jin, known for his tragic love with soprano Yun Sim-deok, and Cha Beom-seok, who wrote the early scripts for the national drama 'Country Diaries', add a special narrative to the museum.
Visitors can feel their literary breath through the writers' handwritten manuscripts and relics, and have a more vivid viewing experience at the recently created media art-based smart literature experience hall. Located within the Gatbawi Culture Town with a view of the sea, it is a great place to look around along with nearby tourist attractions.
