The Daegu Bullo-dong Ancient Tombs is a cluster of tombs from the Three Kingdoms of Korea period, located on the hills of Bullo-dong and Ipseok-dong in Dong-gu, Daegu. Estimated to have been created around the 5th century, it consists of over 210 large and small tombs and is known as the collective burial ground of the indigenous ruling class that governed this area. The tombs take the form of long, narrow rectangular stone chambers built with river stones, showing the characteristics of the midstream Nakdong River region, but the excavated artifacts such as gold ornaments and pottery are similar to those of Silla, offering a glimpse into the complex cultural aspects of the time.
In particular, the excavation of shark bones is an interesting point that suggests the origin of the custom of placing shark meat on ritual tables in Gyeongsang Province.
