Daegu Bangjja Yugi Museum is Korea's first museum dedicated to bangjja yugi, established by Daegu Metropolitan City to preserve and inherit the disappearing traditional cultural heritage of bangjja yugi and its manufacturing techniques. It opened at the foot of Palgongsan Mountain in 2007, based on about 1,480 artifacts donated by Lee Bong-ju, a National Intangible Cultural Heritage yugijang (brassware maker). It introduces in detail the history, types, and production process of bangjja yugi, which is made by alloying copper and tin at a ratio of 78:22, heating it in fire, and hammering it.
You can vividly experience the appearance of the time in the space that recreated a brassware workshop and a brassware shop. In particular, the extra-large jing (gong), which boasts the world's largest size, is a symbolic exhibit showing the essence of bangjja technology and is a must-see point.
