Daegu's Jingolmok Alley is a winding alley with over 100 years of history, as its name derives from 'jilda', the Gyeongsang-do dialect word for 'long' ('gilda'). It was a wealthy village where the local gentry and rich of Daegu gathered to live since the Joseon dynasty, and during the Japanese colonial period, it also became a base for the National Debt Repayment Movement. Currently, modern architecture and old attractions remain, creating a unique atmosphere where the past and present coexist.
In particular, Jeong Pediatrics, Daegu's first Western-style house, and Mido Dabang, which has been in operation for over 40 years, are symbolic places of Jingolmok Alley, and visitors can directly experience the traces of Daegu's modern history by strolling here. It is a charming space where you can feel the passage of time in a unique atmosphere where the old and the new blend together.
