Opened in 2011, Daegu Art Museum is a representative municipal art museum in Daegu. Although its recognition was low in the early days of opening, it gained nationwide fame through the great success of the Yayoi Kusama exhibition in 2013. Along with a permanent exhibition that sheds light on the local art history of Daegu, which was the 'mecca of Korean modern art' where many artists gathered during the Korean War, it consistently presents high-level special exhibitions such as the Lee Kun-hee Collection special exhibition.
Blending modern architecture with beautiful landscaping, it is a great space not only for appreciating artworks but also for enjoying a rest, and is loved by both citizens and visitors for its affordable admission fee.
