Meet the Yongjangsaji Three-story Stone Pagoda, standing against the sky at the end of a rugged peak on Gyeongju Namsan Mountain. This is the former site of the Silla period Yongjangsa Temple, and is also famous as the place where the scholar Kim Si-seup wrote Korea's first Chinese-character novel, Tales of Kumo. The appearance of the pagoda, built using a massive natural rock as its base, is a supreme work of art born from the harmony of nature and artificiality.
The majestic mountain ridges and the scenery of downtown Gyeongju unfolding beyond the pagoda are beautiful enough to make you forget the fatigue of a difficult hike, and the spectacular views of the sunrise and sunset offer an unforgettable impression.
