These are three standing stone Buddha statues from the Unified Silla period, located at the western foot of Gyeongju Namsan. With their impressive gentle and merciful smiles, they are also called the 'Bae-ri Stone Buddha Statues'. They are in the triad form, with the main Buddha in the center and attendant bodhisattvas standing on the left and right, and are estimated to have been made around the 8th century.
The exquisite yet soft carving technique shows the essence of Unified Silla Buddhist art, creating a peaceful atmosphere in harmony with the quiet pine forest. Compared to other historic sites in Gyeongju, it is relatively quiet, making it a good place to appreciate the work in silence and fall into contemplation.
