Opened in 2005 by renovating the Haegeumgang Bun-gyo of Geoje Myeongsa Elementary School, the Haegeumgang Theme Museum began from a special experience of its founder, Director Yu Cheon-eop. Reminded of childhood memories through an old radio he discovered by chance, he established the museum to shed new light on the difficult yet precious lives of his parents' generation. As the first in the country to introduce a 'theme', this place offers fun and moving experiences as well as educational content.
On the first floor, the Modern and Contemporary History Hall vividly recreates the streets and lifestyles of the 1950s to 1970s, providing nostalgia for the middle-aged and older generations, and an opportunity to experience history for the younger generation. On the second floor, the Yukyung Art Museum hosts various special exhibitions such as the International Art Festival, attracting the footsteps of art lovers.
