Somaemuldo Lighthouse Island is one of the Tongyeong 8gyeong, a Scenic Site boasting superb views of unique rocks and strange formations created by sheer coastal cliffs, sea cliffs, and sea caves. It is connected to the main island, Somaemuldo, twice a day at low tide by a pebble path called 'Yeolmokgae', allowing visitors to cross a mysterious sea route. At the top of the island stands a white lighthouse built in 1917, which, harmonizing with the surrounding green grasslands and the sea, presents an exotic landscape.
