Jeonju Film Street, formed in the Gosa-dong area of Jeonju, is a historic cultural street created as several theaters gathered, starting with Baekdogeukjang in the 1940s and 50s. With the hosting of the 1st Jeonju International Film Festival in 2000, it transformed into a hub for independent and alternative films. Throughout the street, film-related cultural infrastructure such as traces of old theaters, a specialized film library, and independent movie theaters are equipped.
During the film festival period every spring, diverse cultural events, outdoor screenings, and conversations with the audience unfold. Blending with the sentimental cafes and shops of the nearby Gaekridan-gil, you can feel a unique charm of downtown Jeonju.
