Jeonra Gamyeong was the center of local administration that governed Jeolla Province and Jeju Island during the Joseon Dynasty, and the office space of the governor. It performed a core role in administration and justice for about 500 years, and during the Tonghak Peasant Revolution in 1894, Daedoso, the general headquarters of Jipgangso (the peasant army's autonomous organization), was established at Seonhwadang Hall, holding significant meaning in the history of democracy in Korea. Through a restoration project, major government office buildings such as Seonhwadang Hall, Gwanpunggak Pavilion, and Yeonsindang Hall were reproduced.
It is a great historic site to intuitively explore the deep history of Jeonju and the beauty of traditional architecture.
