Sitting gently on a cliff at the foot of Seungamsan Mountain, Hanbyeokdang Pavilion is a quiet pavilion built as a villa in 1404 by Choi Dam, a founding contributor of Joseon. The clear waters of Jeonjucheon Stream flowing year-round crashing against the rocks and shattering into jade pieces was called 'byeogok hallyu,' leading to the name Hanbyeokdang Pavilion. Since ancient times, Confucian scholars and poets of the time visited to recite poetry and enjoy the arts, and 'Hanbyeokcheong-yeon,' where the morning mist blends in, is considered one of the eight scenic beauties of Jeonju.
Near the Jeonju Hanok Village, you can appreciate the old charm of the elegant paldang roof pavilion harmonizing with the clear stream.
