Located on a hill in Incheon, Dapdong Cathedral is the first Catholic church in Incheon, established in 1889. It was first consecrated in 1897 in a Gothic style designed by Father Eugene Cost of France, and in 1937, it was expanded under the design of Father Cizaletti, transforming into a Romanesque style featuring arches, round domes, and red bricks. It is characterized by a majestic atmosphere created by three bell towers on the front, granite arches, and stained glass windows.
After restoration following the Korean War, it was designated as Historic Site No. 287, and recently, a plaza and a 'Way of the Cross' rest area have been created, making it a good place to walk calmly amidst soft lighting at night.
