It is a historical park created to commemorate the Great Battle of Okpo, where Lee Sun-sin achieved his first victory during the Imjin War. Destroying 26 Japanese ships in Okpoman and boosting the morale of the Joseon navy, this victory became the starting point for countless victories thereafter. Inside the park, the magnificent 30-meter-tall Okpo Great Victory Memorial Tower stands tall, and you can feel the breath of history at the memorial hall where a naval battle map and artifacts from that time are exhibited.
If you go up to Okporu Pavilion, you can enjoy a refreshing panoramic view of Okpoman, making it a place where you can experience historical education and beautiful natural scenery at the same time while walking in the footsteps of Isunsin Janggun.
