About

Geoje Maemiseong Fortress is a unique fortress built entirely by Baek Soon-sam, who lost his home to Typhoon Maemi in 2003. Built along the shoreline rocks with only personal perseverance and determination, without any architectural skills, this fortress boasts an exotic landscape reminiscent of a medieval castle in Europe. This story, which began without a single blueprint, became famous through word of mouth and became a national attraction after being broadcast on TV.

With the sturdy fortress walls harmonizing against the blue sea, it is also highly popular as a wedding photography location to capture 'photos of a lifetime. ' It is a touching result created by one person's effort and a representative symbol of Geoje.
