The Geoje Fishing Village Folk Museum is an educational space established by Geoje to preserve and exhibit the traditional culture and history of fishing villages along the Namhaean coast. In May 2009, it was integrated with the nearby Shipbuilding & Marine Exhibition Hall and is currently operated as part of the Geoje Shipbuilding and Marine Cultural Center. Since its opening, it has attracted many visitors and established itself as a famous attraction in Geoje.
In particular, the aquarium exhibiting fish species featured in 'Finding Nemo' has been very popular with children. The exhibition hall is organized into four themes, including the 'Sea of Tradition' dealing with the history and traditional culture of Geoje, and the 'Sea of Life' showing the lifestyle of fishing villages such as fishing gear and fishing methods.
