About

Jidong Market, whose eye-catching large arcade is modeled after the fortress walls of Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, is a traditional permanent market that originated from 'Motgol', a reservoir village created by Jeongjo of Joseon during the Joseon Dynasty. Starting as a street market near Paldalmun Gate, it has established itself as Suwon's representative market for ordinary people. In particular, Sundaetaun, which was formed through the Korean War and the period of industrialization, attracts food lovers with the savory taste of its generous stir-fried sundae and gopchang.
