Gwangjuho Lake Eco Park opened as an eco park in 2006, utilizing the upstream wetlands of Gwangjuho Lake, which was created in 1976. It is loved as a natural ecological learning center and a resting place for citizens, and particularly drew great attention when a facility recreating the Panmunjeom Dobodari from the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit was installed. Opposite the park entrance, a spectacular group of king willow trees, steeped in the birth legend of General Kim Deok-ryeong, a righteous army commander during the Imjin War, forms a magnificent sight, and world-renowned garden designer Hwang Ji-hae's 'Haeuso' work is also recreated, adding to its specialness.
You can observe various aquatic plants and migratory birds along the waterside promenade, stroll along the beautiful Metasequoia path, and spend a relaxing time amidst different sceneries in all four seasons. It received even more attention when it was selected as one of the '100 Untact Tourist Attractions' by the Korea Tourism Organization in 2020.
