Gyeryongsan Ceramic Village is the first community-type ceramic village in Korea, created in 1993 by young ceramists gathering to continue the legacy of Cheolhwabuncheongsagi from the Joseon dynasty of the 15th to 16th centuries. Based on the historical background of Gyeryongsan, which has been a major site for ceramics since ancient times, it aims to inherit and develop traditional ceramic culture. Visitors can freely look around the village, view various individual workshops reflecting the artists' personalities, and appreciate and purchase artworks.
The comprehensive exhibition and sales center where you can see the works of multiple artists at a glance, the communal kiln site where ceramics are fired in the traditional way, and Dojamunhwagwan, which promotes the excellence of Gyeryongsan Cheolhwabuncheongsagi, are the main attractions here. A hands-on program to make your own ceramics is also available, providing a special experience.
