Geoje Maengjongjuk Theme Park is a space that offers healing and experiences in a dense bamboo forest where a significant amount of domestic Maengjongjuk grows. Started with three saplings brought from Japan in 1926, this place symbolizes filial piety and the harmony of nature, as its name derives from the story of Maengjong, a devoted son from the Three Kingdoms period of China. Visitors can walk along the trails to enjoy a bamboo forest bath while breathing in 10 times more negative ions than a regular forest, and appreciate the spectacular view of the South Sea from the observatory overlooking the ocean.
It is especially popular with family travelers as there are various things to enjoy, such as a bamboo acupressure trail to relieve fatigue by stepping on bamboo, an adventure forest for children, and a bamboo craft workshop. The wishing wall, where people write their wishes on bamboo pieces and hang them, also forms a unique scenery unique to this place.
