Opened in 2013 with the goal of popularizing science and linking regional industries in the Yeongnam region, the Daegu National Science Museum started as the first industrial science and technology museum in Korea. The world's largest water clock, designed by French physicist Bernard Gitton, welcomes visitors, and scientific principles can be easily and enjoyably explored through various permanent exhibition halls such as 'Nature and Discovery', 'Science Technology and Industry', 'Evolution of Life', and 'History of Science and Technology Civilization'. In particular, exhibitions that teach scientific principles found in specialized industries of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, such as textiles and steel, are unique to this place.
With abundant hands-on facilities that the whole family can enjoy together, such as the dome screen planetarium, 4D theater, and Dream Tree Science Museum for children, it is an ideal place to become familiar with science through play and experience.
