Buyeo Wangheungsaji Temple Site is an important temple ruin from the Baekje period, a historical place where records of its foundation and completion are passed down in literature such as Samguk sagi and Samguk yusa. Built in the second year of King Beop of Baekje, this temple was located by the water, and it is said that the king visited by boat to offer incense and appreciate the beautiful scenery. Excavation surveys have confirmed the main building sites of the temple, including a wooden pagoda site, main hall site, and lecture hall site, and in particular, the oldest domestically produced 'Sarira Reliquaries from Wangheungsaji Temple Site, Buyeo' was excavated from the sarira hole of the wooden pagoda site and designated as a National Treasure.
It is a precious cultural heritage where you can confirm Baekje's excellent architectural culture and craft technology.
