Buyeo Royal Tombs is a complex of royal tombs from the Sabi period of Baekje, located on the southern slope of Mt. Neungsanri. Centered around 7 tombs, they are distributed from east to west, and judging by their scale and location, it is presumed to have been the resting place of past kings.
All the tombs were built in the form of a stone chamber with a tunnel entrance, and in particular, in Tomb No. 1, murals of the Four Guardian Deities, lotus patterns, and cloud patterns influenced by Goguryeo tomb murals were found, which serves as important material for the study of Baekje paintings. The Gilt-bronze Incense Burner of Baekje and the Seokjosarigam were excavated from a nearby temple site, reaffirming that it is a royal tomb area, and its value was recognized when it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the 'Baekje Historic Areas' in 2015.
It is a meaningful place where you can feel the excellence and historical breath of Baekje culture.
