Cheongma Literature Hall is a space opened in 2000 at the foot of Mangilbong Peak in Tongyeong to honor the literary spirit of Cheongma Yu Chi-hwan (1908~1967), a representative Life-school poet in the history of modern Korean literature. Overlooking the wide-open sea off Tongyeong, this place is divided into an exhibition hall, where 15 poetry and prose collections, over 100 relics, and over 350 pieces of literary materials are displayed, and a restored birthplace area. The thatched-roof birthplace, which recreates the pharmacy 'Yu Pharmacy' run by the poet's father, modestly conveys the traces of Cheongma's childhood.
