This was once a quiet neighborhood known as Seonsaengchon, or Teacher's Village, because many teachers and students lived here. As the old downtown declined, the alleys were left with only empty houses. In 2010, however, things began to change when a married couple—a musician and a writer—moved in. They put up a nameplate reading Byeorichae on their house. Starting with that home, painters and photographers soon flocked to the area. Take a stroll through the alleys where they gathered.
