Completed in 1973, Soyanggang Dam is the largest sand and gravel multi-purpose dam in the Republic of Korea, built by piling up clay, stone, and sand. Lake Soyang, created by the construction of the dam, boasts a landscape so vast that it is called an inland sea. Usually, you can walk along the dam crest road to the octagonal pavilion observatory on the other side to fully enjoy the mood of the lake.
Taking a cruise ship from the nearby dock and moving to Cheongpyeongsa Temple along the atmospheric waterway of Lake Soyang is also a popular sightseeing course.
