It is the birthplace of the Tamnaguk mythology that marked the beginning of Jeju Island, a sacred place where the roots and spirit of the Jeju people reside. Here, three holes, from which the three divine men who founded Tamna—Go Eulna, Yang Eulna, and Bu Eulna—sprang up from the ground, are arranged in the shape of the Chinese character Pum (品). Hundreds-of-years-old ancient trees form a dense forest, creating a mysterious atmosphere, and visitors can feel the ancient tranquility and the breath of history in the middle of the city.
Within the grounds, there is Samseongjeon, which enshrines the ancestral tablets of the three divine men, Jeonsacheong, where ancestral rites were prepared, and an exhibition hall where you can watch videos related to the mythology, allowing for a deep understanding of Jeju's foundation tale.
